Like many, I was very sad to hear that after 23 years Ladies Links Tour Golf Association was dissolved. I had volunteered my time for many years because I believe the need to have a group like this is important.
From my own experience I would have never found the many golf friends if it wasn’t for Melanin MacDonald who introduced me to the league. At the time I had golfed maybe a handful of times, spent lots of time at the driving range, never kept score and had a very bad baseball swing but I knew I loved to play. That feeling I got the first time that darn golf ball was airborne and my arms didn’t vibrate from hitting the ground! ok it hit the tree but it was up. I enjoyed the walk. I enjoyed the time I spent talking to my sister while we golfed and then headed to Winners right after to see if they got any new styles.
If your new to golf or perhaps want to get back into it without running into really serious players that can hit the ball really really far. This is where you start. With friendly women who enjoy the game in a non-competitive environment.
This is where you make friends.
I was whole heartedly disappointed to hear the news, however so very energized to chat with Josie and figure this out for the future. Thanks to all the ladies for supporting us and being patient as we move through this.
